Response to Intervention (RtI) is for ALL students. We determine what students need based on what is typical in Lincolnwood.
- Most receive core instruction
- Some receive extra support
- Few receive specific interventions
RtI is high-quality instruction and support matched to student needs to maximize success. Materials used are grounded in scientifically-based research to ensure a high likelihood of success. Students receive support when they need it, often deliverd in flexible groupings that can be adjusted based on student needs.
Student reading is monitored regularly by grade level. Progress is mounted using different schedules based on student needs and learning goals.
- All students: 3 times a year
- Some students: monthly
- A few students: weekly
Most instruction takes place in a general classroom setting. Other students may receive additional instruction outside the regular classroom.
Illinois state law requires school districts to use the RtI process. More importantly, we believe all students can be successful. We want to provide our students with what they need when they need it. We use RtI to achieve this goal.
